Continuum Veterans Foundation Donates Another $50K to Hire Heroes USA!

Just in time for Veteran's Day, Continuum Veterans Foundation (CVF) has, for the second year in a row, donated $50,000 to Hire Heroes USA to help veterans find civilian jobs! Last year's $50K donation helped 239 veterans, transitioning troops and spouses with career assistance and confirmed 101 veterans were hired in civilian jobs from December 2013 through October 2014. This was TWICE our goal for 2014! 


Continuum Veterans Foundation - Our Committment to the Cause

In July 2012, we established the Continuum Veterans Foundation to provide financial support to local and national charities focusing on helping veterans find jobs in IT. Continuum is the sole donor to the Continuum Veterans Foundation with a percentage of revenue from our Help Desk going to the Foundation. We also provide preferential consideration in hiring veterans at the company.

Hire Heroes USA - Transforming Military Service into Civilian Success

Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Hire Heroes USA is dedicated to creating job opportunities for U.S. military veterans and their spouses through personalized employment training. Hire Heroes USA’s primary goal is to lower the veteran unemployment rate, measured by the organization’s ability to help veterans and their spouses gain employment by empowering them with the skills to successfully represent themselves on their resume, when delivering their value proposition and during interviews. Hire Heroes USA assisted veterans with career transition primarily through its online and telephone coaching program as well as its in-person Warrior Transition Workshops. Hire Heroes USA has gained national recognition for its comprehensive continuum of veteran career transition assistance, resulting in more than 30 confirmed hires a week in 2014. The nonprofit organization also joined us at our inaugural user conference, Navigate 2014, to work with our MSP partners in hiring veterans.

Veterans Day - A Company-wide Effort

In addition to donating to Hire Heroes USA, we sponsored a winter coat drive at our headquarters in Boston to benefit the New England Center for Homeless Veterans. Team members of our Cranberry, Pennsylvania office also got involved, supporting the Yellow Ribbon Girls project, helping to purchase, wrap and fill boxes for Veterans overseas.

Meet Mary! Mary McCoy is a Demand Generation Programs Manager at Continuum, where she's worked for over two years. Mary primarily manages the MSP Blog and has consulted with hundreds of partners, lending website, blog and social media support. Before that, she graduated from the University of Virginia (Wahoowa!) with a BA in Economics and served as digital marketing intern for Citi Performing Arts Center (Citi Center), spearheading the nonprofit’s #GivingTuesday social media campaign. Like her school’s founder, Thomas Jefferson, Mary believes learning never ends. She considers herself a passionate, lifelong student of content creation and inbound marketing.
