3 Keys to the Employee Exit Process

pic

Saying goodbye to an employee is never an easy process. Whether it is a mutual decision to part ways, or an unexpected incident that leads to termination, a conversation about ending an employment relationship can be a difficult one to have. Sometimes, it might seem easier to swiftly cut the cord and move on. However, such a decision could lead to bad blood between your place of business and a disgruntled former employee. In order to protect the integrity and image of your company (not to mention your data), the following employee exit process steps should always be followed. Read more »

Hey everyone its that time of the week again, so I hope you’re ready for another episode of IT Rewind!

January is gone and February is here. This month we’ve rolled out our “Show the Love” campaign, which is designed to help show your clients just how much they mean to you. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, there’s no better time to reach out to your customers and thank them for trusting you to keep their businesses up and running. In our very first “Show the Love” post, we offered you some free Valentine’s Day-themed email templates. If you haven’t already, click the link below and start showing your clients how much they mean to you.

Anthem Incorporated, the nation’s second-largest health insurance company, was recently the target of a massive security breach. The personal identification of 80 million current and former customers has been compromised. The stolen information includes names, birthdays, medical IDs, Social Security numbers, Addresses, emails and employment information. Anthem has established a website and phone line for members to learn more about the recent breach. You can find that information by clicking on the link below. If there is a silver lining in this whole ordeal, it’s that no medical information or credit card information was compromised in this sophisticated attack.

The Ghost Bug continues to plague Linux systems. Multiple Linux distributions are susceptible to the critical bug, which makes it possible to execute malicious code though malformed data. Recently, PHP applications and the WordPress Web platform were added to the list of wares affected by the attack. Again, if you’re looking for a positive in all of this, it’s that Ghost doesn’t appear to be exploited against mail and web servers at this time.

This week’s partner spotlight is going to Harry Brelsford of SMB Nation. A few weeks ago, Harry struck up a friendly wager with Continuum’s own Shannon Mayer. The agreement was as follows… If the Patriots won the Super Bowl, Harry would send Shannon some Pacific Northwest salmon and coffee. If the Sea Hawks won, Shannon was to send Harry two Lobsters from James Hook and Company. Well, we all know how that worked out… Here’s to Harry for being a good sport and blogging about his loss. You can find that blog below.

We’re all out of time on this week’s edition of IT Rewind but remember, you can always find us on Twitter, Instagram and Vine at FollowContinuum, as well as on Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Plus and YouTube.

Take it easy.
