Some of you may remember playing the popular game, Would You Rather? with your friends back in high school. Need a refresher? In it, you take turns asking one another funny, outrageous and mind-boggling questions like:

  • Would you rather be really hairy or completely bald?
  • Would you rather be poor and work at a job you love or be rich and work at job you hate?
  • Would you rather fight 100 duck-sized horses or 1 horse-sized duck?

The questions you’re faced with daily, however, are significantly more challenging because they impact your business. We’ve come up with our very own MSP edition of Would You Rather, presenting situations that are relevant to your daily grind, whether you’re a business owner, technician or engineer.

Results are interactive and live so feel free to participate. After you vote, find out how your responses stack up against your peers!

Clients vs. Revenue

Ideally, all of your clients are profitable and valuable to your business, but some need a lot more hand-holding than others. Some of you may not mind investing more time and labor on a tedious, grueling project if it’s for a real whale. Others would rather spend those same resources and that same amount of time working on a lighter lift assignment, even if it’s for a lower-billing client. Where do you fall in this regard? Is it all about the money?

While we are on the topic:

Time vs. Task

Every tech dreads those repetitive, monotonous and time consuming projects that seem to never end. Wouldn’t it be great if you could outsource those tickets and have someone else take care of them? A smartsourced help desk solution can take care of these tedious projects so you can allocate more tech time and talent to higher value projects. Let’s pretend you’re either using an in-house help desk solution or not using a call center at all.

Career Fears

IT can be scary with new threats emerging constantly. If many of your clients are in the healthcare vertical, for example, navigating HIPAA compliance regulations is especially terrifying since the slightest violation could be enough to shut down your business completely. Then, add to that anxiety all of the new ways attackers attempt to breach these organizations. For most of you, ransomware, in particular, is the bane of your existence. With that in mind, we have to know:

Security breaches aren’t the only threat to data protection. Disaster can strike in an instant. No, I don’t just mean a flash flood. Unfortunately, your IT undoing could be at the unknowing hands of your own staff or an employee at your client’s business. That’s why it’s critical that you have a fully managed backup and disaster recovery (BDR) solution in place. How important is data preservation to you?

MSP Super Powers

How many times have we changed what we think we would want our super power to be, whether it was the ability to fly, be invisible or read minds. An MSP has many superpowers. You just have to harness them. That being said, which gadgets would you prefer to have in your tool belt? Which business skills are most important to you?
