Ben: Hey everyone, welcome to a very special edition of IT Rewind. Why is it so special? Well I guess you’ll just have to wait and find out. Roll the intro!

In an IT Rewind first, I’m going to be joined right here on set by a very special guest. However, before we bring out our mystery guest, we’ve got a couple of important stories to cover. Let’s get after it.

If you’re managing a WordPress website, you need to update the application ASAP. WP Slimstat, a web analytics plugin used by many WordPress administrators, is operating with an encryption key that is apparently very easy to hack. The security key is created using the installation date of the plugin. So, if an attacker can determine the year that the site was launched it could take a few as 10 minutes to crack the code. The bug can be used to access user names, passwords, secret keys and other information within the WordPress website’s database. This bug has been identified in WP Slimstat versions 3.9.5 and earlier.

Google has put an end to its annual security witch-hunt. Pwnium, a competition that rewarded those who could find security lapses within Google Chrome, will now be folded into a larger year-round program in order to better protect users from security threats. The fear was that those who had identified issues within Chrome would hold off on reporting them until the annual competition rolled around. This put increased risk of users being vulnerable to unreported bugs in the days, weeks, and months leading up to Pwnium.

This week we put a wrap on our February “Show the Love” campaign. To cap-off the month-long series of blogs and graphics, we put together a short video on why it’s important to show the love to your own business by becoming the most effective and cost-efficient MSP possible.

Alright, I'm joined now by the CEO of Computer Solutions Group. This is Scott Spiro, but you probably already know that because he's been all over the news. He's been on CBS Evening News and the LA Times talking about how busy entrepeneurs can use technology to help themselves. Well, we were luck enough to slot Scott as one of speakers at Navigate 2015 in Las Vegas which I'm hoping you've all already booked your tickets for. So Scott, why don't you tell us a little bit about what you're going to be talking about at Navigate.

Scott: Sure. Well, I'm really excited to be at Navigate for 2015, it's going to be awesome. I'm going to be focusing on talking to enterpeneurs and talking to busy professionals like us and really getting into the nitty gritty as far as how we can leverage the technology that we already know and love to essentially become more successful in both our business and our personal lives.

Ben: Well, that's awesome and if you haven't already registered for Navigate make sure you get on and do that. Once we get a little bit closer you'll be able to start getting on there and checking out the sessions. Make sure you bookmark Scott's because it's going to be a good one. Scott, thanks so much for joining us on the set here.

Scott: My pleasure! We're going to be rockin' and rollin'!

Ben: Absolutely. We’re all out of time on this week’s edition of IT Rewind but don’t forget to check out the links below to read more about the stories that we covered today . We’re also featuring new continuum content and our must-read blog post of the week.

Of course, you can always find us on Twitter, Instagram and Vine at FollowContinuum, as well as on Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Plus and YouTube.

You take it easy.
